  9.       vftovp - convert virtual font    (vf) files to virtual property

  13.       vftovp vf_file_name tfm_file_name vpl_file_name

  15.      DESCRIPTION
  16.       The vftovp program translates    a (program-oriented) virtual
  17.       font file and    its accompanying font metric file to a
  18.       (human-oriented) property list file.    Thus, the virtual font
  19.       can be edited, and its exact contents    can be displayed
  20.       mnemonically.     It also serves    as a VF-file validating
  21.       program; if no error messages    are given, the input files are
  22.       correct.

  24.       The vpl_file_name, must be complete. No adding of default
  25.       extensions is    done.  The vf_file_name    is searched for    using
  26.       the VFFONTS environment variable.  If    VFFONTS    is not set,
  27.       the system default is    used: .     The tfm_file_name is searched
  28.       for using the    TEXFONTS environment variable; the default is
  29.       the same.  See tex(1)    for the    details    of the searching.

  32.       Donald Knuth wrote the program, based    in part    on an idea of
  33.       David    Fuchs, starting    with the code for tftopl(1).  Karl
  34.       Berry    originally ported it to    Unix.
